Welcoming a new baby into your family is a momentous and beautiful experience. The first few weeks of your baby's life are a critical time for growth, bonding, and adjustment for the entire family.

Always-on care for every journey

At COLFS Medical Clinic, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate newborn care that supports the health of your baby and empowers you as a new parent.  Our approach goes beyond medical check-ups; we are here to walk alongside you, offering the guidance, resources, and reassurance you need to navigate this new chapter with confidence.

Newborn Baby

Your Baby's First Doctor's Visit

The first well-child visit is a cornerstone of newborn care and is typically scheduled 1-5 days after birth. This initial appointment is essential for monitoring your baby's transition to life outside the womb and establishing a foundation for their long-term health.

During this important first visit, our pediatric team will:

  • Perform a complete physical examination.

  • Measure your baby's weight, length, and head circumference to ensure they are growing properly.

  • Check for developmental milestones appropriate for a newborn.

  • Assess your baby’s feeding patterns, whether you are breastfeeding or formula-feeding.

  • Administer the Vitamin K shot and Hepatitis B vaccine, if not already given at the hospital.

  • Answer your questions about newborn care, from sleeping patterns to diaper output.

Caring for New Mothers

We believe that a healthy baby starts with a healthy mother. The postpartum period is a time of significant physical and emotional change. Our holistic approach to newborn care includes dedicated support for new moms. We provide a safe space to discuss your well-being, monitor your recovery, and offer resources for challenges such as:

  • Postpartum emotional wellness and support for PPD.

  • Guidance on navigating the transition into motherhood.

  • Referrals to community resources for additional family support.

Your health is a priority, and our team is here to ensure you feel supported, heard, and cared for during this transformative time.
